Leadership News

  • Leadership and Video Productions (VP) applicants will be informed if they made it into either class on Friday, April 20.  If you are a VP Applicant, go to the Drama Room.  Leadership applicants go to the gym.
  • We are having a Joke Contest!  Homerooms will come up with a joke by next Wednesday, 4/18 to tell their homeroom reps.  Our homeroom reps will collect the jokes from their homerooms for our leadership class to evaluate.  We will decide which 3 jokes are best.  1st place: 150 HR points; 2nd place: 100 HR points; 3rd place: 50 HR points.  We will announce the winners Monday, 4/23.
  • Teachers of the month are Mrs. Marasco and Mr. Nigro
  • For your safety, backpacks at lunch can not be blocking the doorway.  There will be consequences if this keeps happening.
  • Our bake sale for SMA is coming up.  The money from bake sale goes to treating children with Spinal Muscular Atrophy.  The bake sale lasts from 4/16 to 4/20.  Items at the sale are $1 each.  T-shirts are $20.  If you spend $3 or more, you receive a braclet.  Spend $5 or more and you get your name put in a raffle for candy!  The grade that raises the most money wins a popsicle party!
  • Career Day is Friday, April 20th.

PTA Important Dates:

April 20th: Career Fair

PTA Amazon Smiles:

Shop for everyone on your gift list this holiday at and Amazon donates to Los Cerros Middle School PTA.

PTA Sister School:

Comcast selected our sister school, Sun Terrace, to receive the benefits of their Comcast Cares Day.

This means that on April 21st a lot of Comcast employees and other community volunteers will come to the school and do projects that the school would like/need. This would include things such as painting stencils on our blacktop, painting murals on our walls, painting picnic tables, landscaping, general clean-up, building benches, assembling small furniture items, and much more.  Comcast provides all the materials needed.  They provide a light breakfast & lunch, and t-shirts while supplies last. In addition to the work they do, Comcast also offers a "grant" based on the number of volunteers that show up.  Last year they gave the schools $18 per volunteer (any age, any amount of time).  Sun Terrace can spend the grant money how they see fit.

Sign-in starts at 8:15, work starts around 9:00, lunch is served around 1:00, and they hope to be finished by 3:00.  Volunteers do not have to stay all day.  The earlier someone shows up, the better selection of projects they get.

Normally, Comcast selects the school months in advance since there is so much planning involved.  The school that was originally chosen fell through, and we were selected just a few weeks ago, so this is all very rushed.  This is Comcast's 16th year doing this, and is their biggest 1-day nation-wide community service event.

To sign up, Los Cerros families, students and staff members can RSVP here,

San Ramon Valley High School Athletic Boosters is seeking board candidates for a few positions.  We are looking for candidates for Treasurer, Director of Corporate Matching and Director of Communications.  Each of these positions require attendance at our monthly Athletic Boosters meeting plus 2 to 3 hours of work outside the meetings per month.

Athletics at SRVHS are almost entirely self-funded and monies raised by Athletic Boosters are critical to the functioning of all 22 men’s and women’s sports teams at the school.  Participating on the Athletic Boosters Board is a great way to get involved and make an impact for 1,000+ student-athletes at San Ramon Valley High School.  If you have an interest in any of these positions, please contact me at

Thank you,

Jeff Romrell

President, SRVHS Athletic Boosters
