About Mr. N

"MATH may not teach us how to ADD love or SUBTRACT hate, but it gives us hope that every PROBLEM has a SOLUTION."

Hello Panthers!

I'm excited to be at Los Cerros Middle School for my 4th year.  I enjoy learning and want to help every one of my students become a better student and person.  By the end of the school year, I hope my students have a better appreciation and understanding of math.  I realize not every student is a "math wiz," but I believe all students can do well in math and become competent and confident problem solvers.  Everyday, I expect students to give their best effort and focus so that they make progress and feel good about what they accomplish in class.

Before I entered the teaching profession, I spent 8 years in business after earning an undergraduate degree from Rice University and a masters degree from UC Davis.  As a former collegiate baseball athlete, I also wanted to share my knowledge and skills with youth players.  My passion for baseball influenced me to go into coaching in 2010.  I have coached players of all ages and found that I enjoy helping them learn and grow.  As a result, I decided to pursue a career in education and earned my teaching credential from Holy Names University.

I enjoy working with students in the classroom and on the playing field, and I want students to take initiative in their learning and personal growth.  I also believe educating youth is a joint effort between teachers and families.  Communication between myself and my students and their families is important to give each student the best chance to be successful in school.  The best way to contact me is via email (inigro@srvusd.net).  I look forward to another positive and productive year at Los Cerros!
